About Me

I’m Alaa (aka b1tbyte)—I prefer to be called أم لُبنى (Um Lubna), a cybersecurity researcher working at the intersection of red teaming and detection engineering. I’ve worked across SOC and consulting roles, covering pentesting, red teaming, and incident response. I hold an MSc in Cybersecurity and a BSc in Computer Science, and I’m certified in advanced hands-on tracks including OSCE3, OSED, GXPN, OSEP, and OSWE (plus CRTE & CRTP).

Today, my work and learning center around adversary simulation, malware & exploit analysis, and detection engineering / Detection-as-Code—building repeatable scenarios from threat intelligence and translating telemetry into detections that teams can trust.

On b1tbyte, I share that journey through free and premium articles, publish course content as it’s developed, and offer consulting for students and professionals.
